Your hotel is a beautiful one in a wonderful setting. Until recently, everything was really great and you loved walking through the lounge to see guests happily relaxing or discussing projects if they were on business trips.
But then something changed. Your stay rates plummeted and all of a sudden your lounge feels pretty echoey.
What should you do?
Well, you could drop your prices. But what if that’s not the issue? If you do it and it doesn’t raise the number of tired tourists hitting your pillows at night then you won’t have a hotel at all before long.
But I bet you’ve got a huge number of e-mails of guests who used to love staying at your hotel, right?
Get out your list and begin asking them questions. Here are some examples:
- Have you stayed in another hotel in our city since you last stayed at [YOUR HOTEL]?
- Do you like the feeling of staying in the same place when you visit a city other than your own?
- What’s most important to you when selecting a hotel? (Please choose from options below)
- Would you prefer to stay in a hotel that costs more but is more comfortable or a cheaper one that’s a little rough around the edges?
And using the poll closing message (which you can set on your poll settings) you could even include a discount code and a link to your booking page to inspire some of those lapsed guests to come back home!
